Intel announced a Big leap in graphics performance with several new processors at Consumer Electronics Show. It focuses mainly on the mobile category and includes 11 new chips. As they said, the new energy efficient processors would nicely be compatible with existing Intel Lineups.

The roll-out includes new mobile Intel Core i3-550Ghz, Intel Core i5-680 and Intel Core i7-880. Intel tech support team has assured that performance and features will increase with the size of “i” identifier number which means Core i7 processors will typically work faster than Core i5 chips. However, you will get better-integrated graphics with Core i3 and i5 processors as well, Intel authority mentioned.

Intel i7-880 dual core model has been made to run at a clock speed of 3.06GHz with 8MB cache resting between 2.93GHz Core i7-870 and 2.66GHz Core i7-920 processors. It takes advantage of Turbo Boosts technology to clock up to 3.33GHz when only one core is needed.

The performance of Intel Core i5 models that range between 2.26GHz and 2.53GHz will commonly come clocked at 3.60GHz with 4MB cache. This can be ramp up to 3.60GHz and 3.86GHz using Turbo Boost technology. As been announced by the Intel authority, this chip will support 1333MHz DDR3 memory and TDP of 73W.

Core i3 involves 2.93GHz Core i3-530 and 3.06GHz Core i3-540 which with similar Turbo Boost technology can be raised to a clock speed of 3.20GHz.
