There are two ways to scan a computer for a faulty hard drive. You can use CHKDSK command. It saves your time and money. Or else, follow the following steps:
• Step 1: Double-click “My Computer” icon on desktop. This will display all the drives on your PC.
• Step 2: Now Right-click the hard drive that you think may be faulty and then click “Properties.”
• Step 3: Click the “Tools” tab at the top of the screen. Click “Check now.”
• Step 4: Now click both the “Automatically fix file system errors” and “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors” boxes.
• Step 5: Click “Start” to begin the process.
• Step 6: After completing the process, a screen will appear saying “Errors were found and fixed.”
