This specialized software used to deduce geographic location of user or in other words it tracks the IP addresses of the systems and thereby determines the country, organization or other information. “Geosense for Windows” as been named by the Microsoft team, is a free software-driven location sensor designed to work with a combination of several methods to calculate visitor’s location. IP address lookup, Wi-Fi triangulation and cellular signal triangulation are the fundamental tasks performed by the software.

So, how does it help your computing? As our computer support team has explained, Geosense can make your desktop computing experience much more interactive and exciting. The location tracker software built into Windows 7 enables your PC to adapt to the present location without having a hardware GPS module. Thus your system will roughly get an idea in which location you are in the world and consequently be able to provide a localized computing experience.

You can add location information on your desktop to popular social networking services apart from the sidebar gadget displaying local weather, location-based printing functionality etc. However, the privacy issue will be your responsibility and for that you can think of a guard dog while installing Geosense.
